The diving watches of Rolex are very popular while the antique models are even sold at high price. In 1950, Rolex launched a new model that caused much attention from public. A perfect fake Rolex “TURN-O-GRAPH” timepiece was water resistant to a depth of 50 meters, which was the earliest predecessor of Submariner.
In 1953, Submariner was launched. The first generation Submariner was the black dial copy Rolex Submariner ref.6204, which was water resistant to a depth of 100 meters. From ref.6538, the Submariner entered into the second generation. It was water resistant to a depth of 200 meters, which was a brand new waterproof record.
In 1989, a new Submariner ref.14060 appeared. Unlike the acrylic glass version, the glass has been replaced to the robuster sapphire crystal. Meanwhile, the waterproof depth had reached to a new level: 300 meters. Of course this robust imitation watch with Oystersteel bracelet had maintained the iconic features of the premier Submariner and it was still water resistant to 300 meters.
